Outdoorsy Girls Guide to Packing for the Outdoors

You’re ready to start hiking but you’re not sure what gear you need and you don’t want to break the bank, right? You’ve come to the right place! As a budget-friendly hiker, I totally get it! My main goal is to get you out on the trails to experience the magic of the outdoors!

I’ve been on a considerable amount of hikes over the last 6+ years, including day hikes in national parks across the US, the backcountry of Washington state, week-long glamping trips in Utah, backpacking in China, and more. I’ve curated my personal outdoors packing list through much of my own trial and error, so I’ve learned a thing or two about what you need to stay safe and be comfortable in the outdoors!

You don’t need a ton of fancy gear to get started hiking but there are some non-negotiable essentials for hiking like water, a first-aid kit, and a map. If you’re a complete beginner, then you need to read the Hiking Essentials for a Day Hike first before downloading this guide!

If you’re new to hiking, this FREE guide covers all the basics, including gear for day hikes, multi-day hikes, and glamping. Already enjoy hiking? Well, you may just find some new gear inspo here!
