How to Upgrade Instant Ramen into a Delicious Shrimp Ramen Bowl

As the Queen B of ‘making something outta nothing’, I turned packets of instant Top Ramen noodles into a delicious Shrimp Ramen Bowl.

My hugest pet peeve is wasting food, so after my mom passed away and had a bunch of random items of food leftover I decided to get in the kitchen. With a Costco size pack of shrimp Top Ramen leftover, I made these delicious ramen bowls! They’re quick and easy to make. They don’t take any crazy ingredients and you can customize them to taste with your choice of vegetables and protein.

Let me know your favorite variation in the comments below. Here’s one of mine!

Prep Time: 10-minutes  Cook Time: minutes Serving Size: 6

Utensils
Skillet
Large Pot

Ingredients
2 packets of Top Ramen
Shrimp
6 cups of vegetable, chicken, or seafood stock
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
2 garlic cloves minced
1 cup carrots thinly sliced

1/2 cup mushrooms
1 cup peppers thinly sliced
1/2 cup scallions thinly sliced
1 lime juiced

Cilantro

Instructions

Pre-heat: Warm up 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet on medium heat. Bring 6 cups of your choice of stock to a boil in a large pot.

Cut the veggies: Grate the ginger. I typically buy pre-minced garlic because I hate mincing it but if you choose to do things the hard way, mince your garlic 😉 Thinly cut carrots, peppers, mushrooms, and scallions.

Cook the shrimp: Add shrimp to skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2 minutes. Flip and season with salt and pepper to cook the other side for 2 more minutes. Cook until each side is firm and pink

Cook the veggies and ramen: Add carrots, peppers, mushrooms, and scallions to boiling stock in a large pot.

Add the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and lime juice after about 3-5 minutes.

Add the dry ramen noodles and cook for 3-5 minutes or more/less depending on desired noodle texture. Remove from heat.

Serve: Prepare the ramen noodles with or without broth in a bowl and add the shrimp while adding cilantro garnish.

Tip: Cut or break up dry ramen noodles to create shorter lengths of noodles.

Bon appétit!
