About Me

Hiiii! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jennie.

My craving for knowledge and passion for helping others around the world drove me to quit my corporate marketing job in South Florida, pack up my life to road trip across the United States, and move to China to teach English to children.

Now, I’m a 30-year-old American expat teaching kindergarteners in Shanghai and escaping to adventure Asia as much as I possibly can and I must say, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a very long time!

I’ve always felt the most alive when exploring new places

I’m a fitness fanatic. From hiking and cycling to HIIT, yoga, and boxing you name it…but my favorite day is always a cheat day. A huge foodie at heart; I’m obsessed with eating dumplings in the winter and surviving off ice cream in the summertime!

Over the past decade, I’ve grown from a naive sheltered girl to a truly independent woman who is not scared of much.

I don’t come from a wealthy family, I’m not privileged and I’m certainly not lucky. I worked really hard to be where I am right now and made sacrifices to get where I wanted to go.

I’ve never understood why people call me lucky or brave. The choices I’ve made and adventures I take are all a part of making my own happiness. I think it’s something everyone should strive for all the time.

About The JJ Adventures

Since I can remember I’ve been passionate about writing but never truly found my voice and the strength to share it until now. Originally, I was inspired to launch thejjadventures by friends and family wanting to follow my adventures around the world. I will always be unapologetically honest here about the ups and downs on this adventure which is my life.

My goal is to help you realize that you don’t have to settle for anything less than a happy life. You don’t have to watch your life and dreams pass you by from the sidelines. No matter what your personal goal is or what adventure you are on, live the life that YOU want!

The adventure isn’t always what we plan or expect, but it makes it that much more fulfilling and rewarding in the end.

Follow along and we’ll figure it out together…
